Viera VA Outpatient Clinic Offers Grant-Funded Yoga and Meditation for Women Veterans

The VA Outpatient Clinic in Viera is offering free gentle yoga and iRest (Integrative Restoration Guided Meditation) classes for women Veterans.  Funded by a national grant, the Tuesday classes will run in 6-week sessions.  The next session begins October 11th with subsequent sessions running through June 2012.  Registration is required and classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.   

Emily Hain, certified yoga and iRest instructor, will be instructing the classes.  She has a B.A. degree and is a certified yoga therapy instructor and is registered with the Yoga Alliance as an experienced yoga teacher with more than 3,700 hours of training and teaching experience.  She has taught yoga in hospital wellness and hospice programs, with the disabled and healthy program and to veteran support groups. 

The classes will be held from 4:30  p.m. - 6 p.m. in room D211 of the clinic, which is located at 2900 Veterans Way, Viera 32940. Women are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a small pillow or blanket for comfort.
