Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona
The new Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona is located on a 65-acre campus in southeast Orange County. The 1.2 million square foot facility cost $600 million to construct. The medical center will have a large multispecialty outpatient clinic, 134-inpatient beds, 120-community living center beds, a 60-bed domiciliary and administrative and support services. The VA Lake Nona Campus is co-located with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, the Burnham Institute, the University of Florida Academic and Research Center, and Nemours Children’s Hospital in the area known as the "Medical City".
The Orlando VA Medical Center continues to activate clinics and services at the new medical center in Lake Nona. The first primary care team began seeing patients at the new facility on Feb. 24, 2015. Over the past months additional services have been activated at the medical center in Lake Nona. The Urgent Care Clinic is open at Lake Nona. Urgent Care provides care for Veterans who are not assigned to an Orlando VAMC provider, who do not have their primary care provider at Lake Nona, and patients who are at the medical center for a specialty visit with no primary care provider assigned or on station. Urgent Care is located in the Emergency Department area on the first floor of the hospital (South end). The main number for Urgent Care is 407-631-0100. Hours of operation for Urgent Care are 7 days a week including holidays from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
