Kiosks Help Veterans Check-In for Appointments
Veterans at the Orlando VA Medical Center can now use a new technology to check-in for scheduled appointments and manage their personal information. The VetLink kiosks are currently in use at the Orlando VA Medical Center's Lake Baldwin clinic, and over the next few months will be availabe at the Daytona Beach and Viera Outpatient Clincs, and the four community based outpatient clinics in Orange City, Leesburg, Kissimmee and Clermont.
VetLink is a self-serve kiosk with touch-screen technology, and is an initiative of the VA Point of Service (VPS) Program. The VetLink software allows system administrators to track usage, update content and software, and receive alerts about any technical issues.
Veterans can use the VetLink kiosks for a number of functions, including checking in for previously scheduled medical appointments, updating their demographic and contact information, viewing their account balance information, and updating their insurance information.
The VPS Program Management Office will continually upgrade the VetLink software and hardware in order to enhance services offered to Veterans. Some of the future services include scheduling and viewing future medical appointments, completing payment transactions, completing and signing various VA documents, updating their medication information, and refilling prescriptions.
