Local Patient Access Data

Regularly updated patient access data is available for all VA Medical Centers and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics including average wait times, number of patients waiting for a scheduled appointment and number of patients that cannot be scheduled for an appointment in 90 days or less. At the Orlando VA Medical Center, we have established a number of procedures to assist you in getting an appointment without a long delay. Our goals are simple -

You should be able to see your primary care provider within one to two business days

You should have faster access to speciality care

If you have received a letter stating that you need to make an appointment, please call Telecare at (407) 599-1404 or 1-800-645-6895 between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. and press 3. You can also press 2 if you would like to renew, refill or check the status of your medication(s) or press 4 if you wish to speak with a nurse. Phone calls after 4 p.m. are answered by the afterhours VISN Telecare staff. The afterhours staff are unable to schedule appointments or refill medications.

For medication refills

1. Call 1-877-646-4550 or 407-646-4500 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This is an automated system.  You will need your Social Security Number and the Prescription Number (only enter the number portion of the prescription).
2. Drop off your refill slips in the refill box at the Pharmacy.
3. Mail your refill slips in an envelope to the clinic with the label provided.
4. Online at (you will need to register with this site)

Please order refills at least 2 weeks prior to running out of medication.  You can order your next refill the same day you receive your medications.

Changing your appointment

If you cannot keep an existing appointment, please contact us as soon as you are aware you cannot make your appointment. This will allow us to reschedule you sooner as well as schedule one of your fellow veterans for the original appointment date and time.
