Orlando VA Medical Center Awards Third Contract for New Medical Center

The Orlando VA Medical announces the award of a $30 million contract to Brasfield & Gorrie to build the parking garages and warehouse for the new Orlando VA Medical Center. This is the third contract awarded for the new facility and is another major milestone toward providing a comprehensive modern healthcare facility for Central Florida Veterans.
The $665 million medical campus, located on a 65-acre campus in southeast Orange County, is expected to open in 2012. In addition to the hospital providing acute care, complex specialty care and advanced diagnostic services, the facility will also have a large multispecialty outpatient clinic, 134-inpatient beds, 120-community living center beds, a 60-bed domiciliary and administrative and support services.
The VA will be co-located with the University of Central Florida Medical School, the Burnham Institute and Nemours Children’s Hospital in the Lake Nona area known as the “Medical City.”
